The Mission:
To facilitate a lifetime of activity by providing information and
technologies that enable pain-free living.
The Foundation accomplishes its mission through cutting
edge research that results in solutions for the prevention and
treatment of musculoskeletal injury and chronic musculoskeletal
pain. The Foundation disseminates this information to other
professionals and individuals seeking to understand the basic
principles of pain-free movement.
Community Programs and Services:
- Annual Fall Prevention screenings for the elderly
- Pre-participation sports screening in underserved
communities
- Cupstacking program instruction for elementary/middle
school aged children in underserved communities
2008 Projects
- Think Tank Updates – 45 Think Tank updates per year
available as downloadable .pdf on the Foundation Web site.

- Research Study (2008 – Pelvic Floor) – Study of the effect
of pelvic alignment and synergistic dominance of deep hip
external rotators on pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Movement Training Specialist Certification Program
Development - Development of curriculum and
programming materials for three levels of certification in
the TriPLAYnar Technology system for health care and
fitness professionals.
- TriPLAYnar Database Development – Development
of custom data base for data collection of biomechanical
assessments, biomechanical screens and consultations,
including reporting and querying capabilities for research
purposes.
- Podcast Production – Development of 45 podcasts per
year. Episodes will be 5-6 minutes each and offered
through free subscription to listeners around topics of
injury prevention and exercise.

The Musculoskeletal Problem:
- More than 1/2 of the nations workers have jobs with
potential for repetitive stress injuries.
- The average employed person loses nearly 2 days of
work a year due to musculoskeletal injuries.
- Workers age 18 – 64 are disabled more from repetitive
stress disorders than any other disorder including mishaps.
Symptoms are usually ignored or avoided until the pain is
chronic or permanent.
- Total cost associated with musculoskeletal conditions
in the United States increased from $81 billion in 1986
to $215 billion in 1995, then up another 18% in 5 years
to $254 billion in 2000.
- $1 of every $10 spent for healthcare in the US is spent for
treatment and care of persons with musculoskeletal
conditions.
